SAJU began with a problem our founder experienced personally.
Applying to universities across different countries meant navigating different systems, requirements, deadlines, and ways of evaluating students. Information was everywhere, but it was scattered, sometimes contradictory, and rarely clear about what actually deserved attention.
At the same time, managing academics, applications, and profile development made it easy to focus on getting into a strong university without asking an equally important question: which university and environment would actually be the best fit?
That distinction became personal.
Strong grades alone were not enough to create the level of differentiation needed for increasingly competitive applications. A gap year became an opportunity to gain real experience, pursue meaningful initiatives, and strengthen the profile beyond academics.
University itself brought another lesson. After beginning in an environment that did not feel like the right fit, continuing the journey at Shanghai Jiao Tong University showed how different the experience could be when the university, environment, opportunities, and student genuinely aligned.
What was missing throughout that journey was not more information. There was already plenty of that.
What was missing was a trusted partner who could truly understand the student, their interests, and the direction they wanted to explore; explain what was realistic; identify gaps in their profile and the right next steps; and bring everything together into one clear strategy that made a complicated process easier to navigate.
SAJU was built to be that partner.
Today, the same principles guide how we work. We help students find the university and environment where they can get the most from their education, rather than focusing solely on the highest ranked name available to them. We also help them understand that strong academics are only part of the picture, and that meaningful skills, experiences, initiative, and differentiation increasingly matter both for university admissions and for what comes after.
