OUR COUNSELORS

The right strategy starts with the right counselor

Every SAJU student works closely with a dedicated counselor who understands their profile, goals, academic direction, personality, and current stage.

Our counselors bring experience across leading European university systems and remain responsible for bringing every part of the student’s journey into one coherent strategy.

But expertise alone is not enough. Just as the right university should fit the student, so should the counselor.

Students are matched with counselors based on fit, not assigned from a generic queue. The right match makes it easier for the student and counselor to understand one another, build trust, communicate openly, and approach important decisions from perspectives that genuinely reflect the student’s interests and ambitions.

The objective is to help every student get as much as possible from the counseling relationship, both through stronger university outcomes and through their own academic and personal development along the way.

HOW WE WORK

Operating principles every SAJU counselor follows

SAJU counselors do not recommend universities based on rankings alone.

Every recommendation considers the student’s strengths, ambitions, learning preferences, academic direction, career goals, cost, risk, and the environment where they are most likely to grow.

The objective is to help each student reach the university where they can get the most from their education.

SAJU counselors explain risks, tradeoffs, and realistic possibilities directly.

Good counseling is not about telling families what they want to hear. It is about giving them the information and perspective they need to make better decisions, even when the answer may be uncomfortable.

SAJU counselors do not apply the same curriculum to every student.

The emphasis of the strategy changes according to the student’s current profile, stage, goals, remaining runway, and upcoming deadlines.

The underlying journey remains structured, but the priorities are always tailored to the individual student.

SAJU counselors focus on helping students become as competitive as possible, rather than simply improving how existing experiences are described on an application.

That means identifying opportunities for meaningful academic, personal, and professional growth, helping students deepen genuine interests, build useful skills, close important profile gaps, and develop experiences that contribute to a coherent direction.

A stronger application should reflect a stronger student.

SAJU counselors use experience and professional judgment to guide the student, but important recommendations should begin with evidence rather than instinct alone.

Structured student information, the University Fit Assessment, our proprietary university database, and application requirements provide the foundation from which counselors evaluate options and make recommendations.

SAJU counselors maintain clear priorities, ownership, deadlines, and follow through throughout the entire journey.

The counselor remains responsible for keeping the strategy coordinated, while SAJU’s platform and structured family progress reviews provide additional visibility and accountability for students and families.
