About Daniel

Daniel specializes in guiding students through highly competitive UK university admissions, including Oxbridge and other top institutions.

Originally from Bremen, Germany, Daniel grew up in a family closely connected to the shipbuilding industry. When his father was affected by the 2008 shipping collapse, he realized how quickly paths can change, and how important it is to make thoughtful, well-informed decisions early on.

Outside of his work, Daniel has a strong interest in philosophy and modern history, and is known for recommending books that challenge students to think differently. Do not be surprised if he starts praising Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari or Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman.

During his time at the University of Warwick, Daniel began counseling high school students through a student services office and discovered how lost many of them actually felt.

What started as a part-time role quickly became a long-term career interest. Through years of working with applicants, Daniel refined his approach around a key insight: strong grades are not enough. The students who succeed at their applications are those who can demonstrate depth, how they think, and how they engage with their subject beyond the classroom.

Daniel has particular depth in highly competitive UK university admissions, including Oxbridge and other top institutions.

Students Daniel Works Especially Well With

Daniel works particularly well with students who are academically strong but tend to think about things at a surface level.

He is especially suited to students targeting highly competitive UK universities who need to demonstrate deeper intellectual engagement with their chosen subject.

Approach to Counseling

Daniel is known for his attention to detail. He works closely with students to help them explore how far their academic interest truly goes, often challenging them to explain not just what they are interested in, but why.

He is direct in his feedback and does not sugarcoat weak points, but students value this honesty. It allows them to improve quickly and build applications that are more authentic.

Daniel believes that applying to university should not feel like a one-time performance, but like a process of intellectual development that helps students truly understand their subject and its real-world implications.

His goal is not only to help students gain admission to top universities, but to ensure they are prepared to engage and think independently once they arrive.

Education and Professional Background

Daniel studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Warwick, where he developed strong analytical thinking and argumentation skills.
