Luka R.

Luka began working with SAJU in Year 9, before most students are thinking seriously about university.

Starting early created time to explore academic fields, make deliberate subject choices, and build a coherent profile rather than making those decisions later under application pressure.

Luka explored engineering, economics, computer science, and biochemistry before developing a stronger interest in technology and data, particularly at the intersection of computer science and business. Conversations with professionals helped him understand what careers in those fields actually looked like.

When he entered the IB Diploma Programme, his Higher Level subjects in Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches, Physics, and Computer Science were already aligned with that direction.

During Years 9 and 10, he completed targeted Python courses, participated in the ESADE Managers of the Future Challenge, and later joined a Bocconi University Data Science program. In his IB Junior Year, he secured an internship in the IT department at RIU Hotels & Resorts headquarters.

In parallel, Luka developed a long-term passion project teaching introductory Python to younger students at local public schools. The project matured over time through student feedback and practical exercises.
